Ayr Mount is a meticulously restored 1815 plantation home. It is finely furnished with Federal Antiques and Decorative Art. The home, built by William Kirkland of Scotland, sits on 265 tranquil acres along the banks of the Eno River. House tours are available. One-mile free nature trail around the house and along the banks of the Eno River called the Poet's Walk is open daily.
This is a 1701 reconstructed Occaneechi Indian Village with a palisade, huts, cooking site and sweat lodge. Appears as it did when used by the tribe along the Eno River Trading Path.
